Gang Sheet Heat Transfer Application: Step by Step Guide

Preparation

  • Iron the garment: Before starting, iron the garment to remove any wrinkles or creases. This will ensure a flat surface for the transfer. 
  • Cut the design: Carefully cut out the design from the Gang Sheet Heat Transfer, leaving a small border around the edge. 
  • Centering the design: Place the design in the desired position on the garment. You can use a ruler or tape measure to make sure it is centered. 

Pressing

  • To properly press a DTF transfer, set your heat press to 300°F and 60 PSI or high. Start by pressing the garment or fabric once to remove any wrinkles and moisture. Then follow the 3 P's: Position the DTF transfer, press it for 10 seconds, and peel once it's cool to the touch (skip this step if you are using hot peel). Finally, repress to complete the process. For optimal results, use a heat pillow to increase pressure and a guard sheet to protect both the apparel and DTF transfers from burning.

  • Make sure the heat press is fully preheated before applying pressure. 
  • Do not apply too much pressure, as this may damage the transfer or the garment. 
  • Perform a transfer test on a similar piece of fabric before applying the transfer to the final garment.
